Reflections

V1
My reflection in the water
Brings peace to my soul
The calm of the still pool
Allowance to be whole
Ch
Still water, sun in sky
Glistening fireworks before my eyes
Wash over me renew, restore and heal
Presence of the Lord
V2
Journeys begin and end
With a walk to nature’s presence
Owning the time away to visit
Time for reminiscence
Ch
Still water, sun in sky
Glistening fireworks before my eyes
Wash over me renew, restore and heal
Presence of the Lord
V3
I walk away renewed
Able to face the day
Reminded of my humility
Yearning to stay….
Ch

Avenue of the Pines
03:30
|
|||
V1 Shaded by the canopy , I enter in
Through the Avenue of the Pines
The tall majestic trees
Humble my existence
As I’m transported back in time.
V2 Mineral water bubbled up
Out of the hardened earth.
We went to heal ourselves there
With baths of warm water
Giving our rebirth
Ch Avenue of the Pines
Bring it back to me
The land of time forgotten-
Eternity
Br Make what is old new
And turn the page
To refresh my soul
And set the stage
V3 Known as the Pine Promenade
To walk upon with healing spells
The war torn souls renewed there in baths
Of warm carbonated spas and wells
Ch Avenue of the Pines
Bring it back to me
The land of time forgotten-
Eternally.

New Years' Resolution
03:28
|
|||
RESOLUTION:
It’s that time of year
Compelled restriction or fear
Slow down or speed up
Current ways not enough
It’s another new year’s resolution
A pledge we make to ourselves
The ongoing evolution
Broken as dawn reveals
Enjoy the holiday sweets
There’s no limit on how much we eat
With every diet and exercise plan
Goals we make we break again
We plan of being stronger
Comfortable with ourselves for longer
Shut off our diverting actions
Communicate without distractions
Another New Year
Another new plan
Goals meant to be kept
But when broken they’re inept
Sing Auld Lang Syne
Wash away years past
When the Saints go marching in
New year’s resolutions crash.

Steel Memories

Steel Memories:
V1 Looking down the forgotten tracks
Where the locomotives used to pass
I am struck by the lonesomeness
With Sights and sounds of the past
V2 The round house sits in disrepair
Like a clock ticking memories away
Steam engines turned around
When there was time to rest and stay
Ch A time to travel on the Rail and hear the engine’s roar
To listen to the whistle blow through each town
To what may be in store
V3 Mighty Engines Rumble in
and teach us history
Allowing us to take the time
To Unveiling mysteries
V4 Wonders of the earth and sky
Listening to the churning wheels
As we watch the world go by
Forged by the path of hurling steel
Ch A time to travel on the Rail and hear the engine’s roar
To listen to the whistle blow through each town

Echo Chambers of My Heart
CH The Echo Chambers of my heart
May resonate the pain
Of losing out and losing you
Never feel right again….
V1 You were all I ever wanted then
You took it all away
Left a hole right in my heart
Where you used to stay…
CH The Echo Chambers of my heart
May resonate the pain
Of losing out and losing you
Never feel right again…
V2 We had made all the plans
To be together for always
Then the winds changed – the feelings left
You could no longer stay.
CH The Echo Chambers of my heart
May resonate the pain
Of losing out and losing you
Never feel right again.
Br Self-reflection is self-destruction
I can only see one way
I should have offered you more
I should have worked it out so you’d stay
Lead Break
CH The echo chambers of my heart
May resonate the pain
Of losing out and losing you
Never feel right again….

Winter Woes
V1 Living in New England
Sort of Bring me down
Shades of gray and white
Sunshine can’t be found
V2 I don’t ski or play
In the endless world of snow
I’m inside without a plan
And find nowhere to go
CH Winter woes- Feeling down
Gently falling snow
Waiting for my Spring friend
And the warming sun’s glow
BR Maybe a Getaway
To a warmer place
Would ease this bitter cold
And my blues erase
V3 Still I look out at the white
Wondering how to see
Ahead to the end
Of this Winter’s plight
CH Winter woes – Feeling down
Gently falling snow
Waiting for my Spring Friend
And the warming sun’s glow

The World is Unforgiving
03:36
|

Met an Old Friend today Asked her how she was The floodgates opened She had so much to say...
She fell on hard times Just now saw the light Where does life take us
When we begin to lose sight?
Strange Days we are living We can't get out of our way
When we face the unexpected And the world is unforgiving
Better days are coming So the soothsayer told us But we don't see it ahead
And circumstances scold us
Sun sets in the other side
And we look toward the horizon Seeking answers and direction But in the present we're denied
Still we move on and dream Of all we need to see Hoping for the best
In all that need to be Jackie Gesek 1/5/23

Seize the Day
03:32
|
|||
V1 You’re an anchor in my speed boat
Keeping me from the race
I want to go fast and make my mark
And you won’t let me get in the chase
V2 Let’s get on board with the wind and the sun
Make the day as a pioneer
Take chances and challenges as they come
And drive forward without any fear
Ch Join me in the fun …of moving faster along the way
Take the reins, hold on and get going
Its time for us to seize the day.
V3 No one said it would be easy street
To take the less chartered path
But that’s where the journey is for me
We may not get a second pass…
V4 So hold on tight and get away with me
To a place we’ve never seen before
Learn to let go, get out and away
And follow, gaining so much more
Ch Join me in the fun …of moving faster along the way
Take the reins, hold on and get going
It’s time for us to seize the day.
